Has anyone found good methods for wasp control around the neighborhood? I’ve spotted the greenish-yellow wasp traps around - in your experience do those work well?
With the weather getting warmer, we’re getting lots of them around our front porch – enough that Sophie sometimes wants to stay inside because she’d have to go past the wasps.
Yes, but not entirely… the best thing to do is late at night, when they are sleeping, spray the nest with some kind of wasp spray. Placing a glass of gasoline over the nest will also do the trick. Once they are all dead, scrape the nest off and scrub the area. Then use a peppermint essential oil spray to treat the area. Evidently, they don’t like peppermint! I think Rosemary is also something they don’t like, and you can get “natural” wasp spray that is Rosemary-based. I had some a while back that worked well, but I haven’t been able to find it again locally… I will likely order some this year.
